Academic Achievement Grant Spring 2025

Application Period:
Regular students at the Institute of Fine Art and Cultural Studies – Application in the summer semester: from Monday, 12 May 2025, 00:00 a.m. to Thursday, 12 June 2025, 11:59 p.m. (it is not possible to submit any applications after 11:59 p.m.).
Please note that we cannot consider incomplete applications and applications submitted after the deadline!
Only regular students from the Institute of Fine Art and Cultural Studies can apply in the summer semester. Regular students from the Institute of Art and Education/Teacher Training, the Institute of Media and the Institute of Space and Design will be able to apply for the Academic Achievement Grant (Leistungsstipendium) in October.
Amount: The grant for outstanding achievements cannot be less than EUR 750,-- and cannot exceed EUR 1.500,--.
Submission: Institute of Fine Art and Cultural Studies
Works and projects need to be submitted using the Calls system. The institute will then receive a list of all valid applications. The submitted works/projects must be presented during the “Rundgang” exhibition (26 June to 28 June 2025).
Since the presentation is part of the Academic Achievement Grant, applicants are not required to submit the complete work/project in our Calls system. Instead, please describe the submitted work(s) or project(s) and upload the file as a PDF. The description should be one A4 page at the most. You can submit and present more than one work/ project.
It is only possible to submit the required documents digitally over our Calls system, not by e-mail.
A jury, consisting of members of the respective institutes and a member of our university’s student union, will decide which works or projects will receive a grant.
Requirements:
- Applicants need to be regular students at the Institute of Fine Art and Cultural Studies of the University of Arts Linz during the academic year of their application
- Applicants need to be Austrian citizens, or need to hold a citizenship of an EEA country, or need to have equal status (see § 4 StudFG)
- Applicants must not exceed the number of semesters stated in their curriculum by more than one semester for each part of their study programme, unless for specific reasons listed in the student financial supporting act (§ 19 StudFG)
- The work(s) or project(s) must be compatible with the study programme (this also applies to projects which are done outside of the study programme) and must have been completed during the last academic year (between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025)
- Applicants need to have received at least 10 ECTS during the last academic year with an average grade of 2,0 or better
- Applicants must submit a complete application form
The University of Arts Linz can provide funding for applicants from non-member states of the European Union.
Required Documents:
- A brief description of the work(s) or project(s): it is possible to submit one or more completed artistic works or projects. If you are submitting a collaboration project, please make sure to state all collaborators and indicate who completed which part.
- Transcript of Records and/or graduation certificates
- Confirmation of the number of semesters you have been enrolled at our university (“Studienzeitbestätigung”)
- If necessary, other documents supporting the data in your application (e.g. confirmation of equal status with EU/ EEA citizens, reason for exceeding the numbers of semesters stated in the curriculum, etc.)
You must present your work/ project during the “Rundgang” exhibition (26 June to 28 June 2025).
Selection Criteria:
- Quality of the submitted work(s) (max. 60 points)
- Quality of the formal presentation (max. 20 points)
- Eagerness to experiment (max. 20 points)
