Academic Achievement Grant 2024

To recognize outstanding academic achievements.

There is no legal entitlement to this grant.

Application Period:
From Monday, 14 October 2024, 00:00 a.m. to Monday, 11 November 2024, 11:59 p.m. (it is not possible to submit any applications after 11:59 p.m.).
Any incomplete applications and applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered!

Amount:
The grant for outstanding achievments cannot be less than EUR 750,-- and cannot exceed EUR 1.500.

Applicants need to be part of the following institutes:
Art and Education – Teacher Training Programmes, Media, Space and Design

Works and projects need to be submitted on the Calls system. For the application procedure there is no presentation planned. Please describe the submitted work(s) or project(s) and upload the file as a PDF. The description should be one A4 page at the most.

It is only possible to submit the required documents digitally over our Calls system, not by e-mail.

A jury, consisting of members of the respective institutes and a member of our university’s student union, will decide which works or projects will receive a grant.

Requirements:

  • Applicants need to be regular students at the respective department of the University of Arts Linz during the academic year of their application
  • Applicants need to be Austrian citizens, or need to hold a citizenship of an EEA country, or need to have equal status (see § 4 StudFG)
  • Applicants must not exceed the numbers of semesters stated in their curriculum by more than one semester (see § 19 StudFG)
  • The work(s) or project(s) must be compatible with the study programme (this also applies to projects which are done outside of the scope of the university) and must have been completed during the last academic year (between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024)
  • Applicants need to have received at least 10 ECTS during the last academic year with an average grade of 2,0 or better
  • Applicants must submit a completed application form

The University of Arts Linz can provide funding for applicants from non-member states of the European Union.

Required Documents:

  1. A brief description of the work(s) or project(s): it is possible to submit one or more completed artistic works or projects. If you are submitting a collaboration project, please make sure to state all collaborators and indicate who completed which part.
  2. Transcript of Records and/or graduation certificates
  3. Confirmation of the number of semesters you have been enrolled at our university (“Studienzeitbsteätigung”)
  4. If necessary, other documents supporting the data in your application (e.g. confirmation of equal status with EU/ EEA citizens, reason for exceeding the numbres of semesters stated in the curriculum, etc.) 

Selection Criteria:

  • Quality of the work(s) (max. 60 points)
  • Quality of the formal presentation (max. 20 points)
  • Love to experiment (max. 20 points)

Additional Criteria:

  • Gender equity

The University will publish the ranking and the applicants receivend an Academic Achievements Grant on the website at “Studies & Admission/ Scholarship and Prizes”
