Project Grant Spring 2025

To support works and projects from regular students of all study programmes (not to be mistaken for the grants provided by the “Förderverein” which is handled by the rectorate’s office).
There is no legal entitlement to this grant.
Amount: The project grant cannot be less than Euro 750,- and cannot exceed Euro 3.600,-.
Application period:
From Monday, 12 May 2025, 00:00 a.m. to Thursday, 12 June 2025, 11:59 p.m. (it is not possible to submit any applications after 11:59 p.m.). Please note that we cannot consider incomplete applications and applications submitted after the deadline!
Submission:
It is only possible to submit the required documents digitally using our Calls system, not by e-mail.
Please submit a description of your project (max. one A4 page), and specify the required costs.
Requirements:
- Applicants need to be regular students at the University of Arts Linz during the academic year of their application
- Applicants need to be Austrian citizens, or need to hold a citizenship of an EEA country, or need to have equal status (see § 4 StudFG)
- Applicants must not exceed the number of semesters stated in their curriculum by more than one semester for each part of their study programme, unless for specific reasons listed in the student financial supporting act (§ 19 StudFG)
- Applicants must submit a complete application form
- Applicants must be enrolled as a regular student at the University of Arts Linz for more than one semester
Required Documents:
A brief description of the work(s) or project(s), report of your professor and/or assistant, confirmation of the number of semesters you have been enrolled at our university (“Studienzeitbestätigung”), as well as other documents supporting the data in your application (e.g. confirmation of equal status with EU/ EEA citizens, reason for exceeding the numbers of semesters stated in the curriculum, etc.)
Planned works and projects:
You can submit works or projects (from any study programme) which have not been completed yet. It is not possible to submit completed works or projects. When applying for the project grant, please include a description of the work/ project your want to complete (a sketch with comprehensive visual information) and an expressive portfolio recording the progress you have made up to date, so that the jury can assess the quality of the project. Please make sure to specify the costs and available funding.
Projects done in colaboration have to be submitted by one person only. Please make sure to list all participants. The student submitting the form needs to list all costs of the project. If you mention other participants bearing a portion of the costs, please note that they also have to meet the requirements of the grant.

Report:
At least one report needs to be written by a professor or an assistant of your department and has to evaluate the budget and state if they anticipate the applicant(s) to complete the project successfully, going by the student's former academic/ artisitc performance and the project's scope.
Selection Criteria:

- Quality of the formal presentation
- Eagerness to experiment
- Gender equity
The grant is awarded by the vice rector of art and academic affairs and a juy which includes two student representatives and one represenatative of each instutute.
Completion Report:
Students who received a project grant have to write a report after completing the project – or one year after receiveing the grant at the latest – and submit it to the vice rector of arts and academic affairs at the student's office. The report has to document how the grant was used in order to complete the project successfully.
