Call for Submissions: Annual Calendar 2026
The submission deadline has been extended to July 6, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Since we won't be making the selection until July, and this is a very busy time, we are extending the call for proposals again!
The forum – Art University Linz is planning the second edition of an annual calendar for 2026, which will present an exciting selection of works by forum members as well as all graduates, students, and teachers of the Art University Linz.

Which days deserve new meaning? Which historical connotations can we question or reinterpret through artistic intervention?
We live in a time of change – political, social, ecological, and technological. Upheavals occur almost daily, the full impact of which often only becomes fully apparent years later. Passivity is not an option. Changes challenge us, but they also open up new spaces for thought and creativity. In art in particular, ruptures are an essential principle: the fragmentary, the incomplete, the conscious breaking away from patterns and traditions.
With our daily tear-off calendar, we aim to capture and visualize these dynamics. 365 days – 365 artistic impulses: images, texts, sketches, commentaries, statements, intermediate steps,…
Description:
This year's annual calendar is available as a black and white daily tear-off calendar with 365 perforated pages in A5 format (70 g/m²).
The cover is made of high-gloss, laminated cardboard (240 g/m²).
The calendar has two holes for hanging, making it easy to attach to the wall.
Conditions of Participation:
The competition is open to members of forum – Art University Linz of all ages, as well as students, teachers, and all graduates of the Art University Linz.
The following must be submitted for the application:
A maximum of 10 images, texts, etc. in printable format Format:
- JPEG black and white
- Resolution: 300 dpi
- Maximum size: 2500 x 2500 pixels (both portrait and landscape formats are possible)
- File size: 5 MB
- Description: First name, last name, title, year, material, size in cm
Multiple submissions (maximum 10) are possible and encouraged! Image and text sequences, e.g., short stories, poems, comics, etc., are also welcome.
Selection process:
The board of forum - Kunstuniversität Linz will select 365 motifs from the submitted entries that fit well together thematically and according to the annual cycle.
Publication and Distribution:
The calendar will be available at select retailers and at the Linz University of Art and Design and will be promoted through all relevant channels.
The production costs will be covered by forum – Linz University of Art and Design.Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will be donated back to the projects of forum – Linz University of Art and Design. forum members will receive a free calendar.
Decisions regarding inclusion in the annual calendar are subject to legal recourse.
The forum reserves the right to make minor adjustments, such as color correction, for printing optimization. Furthermore, the forum – Linz University of Art and Design will retain all submissions in order to contact applicants for other projects if necessary.
